I want to thank you for all you do for the National Gran Fondo Series and for creating a wonderful community. In 2021, my friends from Cincinnati mentioned that they were doing a race in Helen, GA so I decided to join them. This was my first Gran Fondo event -- I loved the racing, and while my initial intent that year was to focus on gravel, your events made we want to do more road racing again.  Fast forward to this year…  I recently won my race at the UCI World Championships in Scotland!! It’s all still surreal, but I wanted to reach out to you and say thanks, as your events were really key in helping me achieve this accomplishment!

COVID really flipped the traditional race calendar on its head. Road races were gone or in short supply. We competed in our first fondo in Georgia last year, & we were immediately hooked. They combine all the elements we love about cycling: fast competition, beautiful roads, & the ability to ride with friends and loved ones typically separated from us either by category or gender. At the Boone Gran Fondo my Garmin, which I was using to stay on course, died. I was quite worried that the rain and other conditions would make it difficult to see the arrows on the ground and the signs along the road.

I'm happy to report that I worried for nothing. It was a bit difficult to see the arrows during the sheet flow of water running downhill on the climbs - but those signs really stood out.

Just wanted you guys to know that your hard work made the ride downright fun!”
